Telangana government sets up State Public Service Commission

The provisions of SPSC are mentioned in Article 315 of Constitution. 
It is a multi-member body consisting of Chairman and members appointed by Governor of the state.
It should be noted that, Chairman and members are removed only by President (and not by the Governor), although they are appointed by Governor.

Telugu novelist Kesava Reddy passes away

Renowned Telugu novelist Kesava Reddy has passed away in Nizamabad district of Telangana. He was 68. He was well known for his writings that had addressed many important social problems in India like poverty, prejudices and superstitions. 

About Kesava Reddy Kesava Reddy was born 10 March 1946 in Thalapula Palli village of Chittoor District in Andhra Pradesh. Medical career: He was doctor by profession and had obtained MBBS degree from Pandichheri medical college. He also had PG diploma in dermatology and had worked as Medical officer in Victoria Hospital, Dichpally, Nizamabad. During his medical career, he had treated a number of leprosy patients. Writer Career: He had penned eight novels, short and long stories. Some of his novels were translated into English and other languages

 His novels are Mugavani Pillana Grovi (1996), Chivari gudise (1996), Athadu Adavini Jayinchadu (1980), Incredible Goddess or Kshudra Devatha (1979), Swasanam dunneru (1979), City Beautiful (1982), Ramudunaadu- Raajjaymundaadi (1982), Muneamma (2008).

Newly discovered Spider named after Telangana state

Newly discovered spiders of Thomisidae family have been named as Telangana crab spider (Thomisus telanganensis) i.e. after Indian state of Telangana. These spiders were discovered by G.B. Pravalikha and Chelmala Srinivasulu, wildlife and taxonomy researchers from the Zoology Department of Osmania University at an expedition at Nagnur in Karimnagar district of Telangana.

Key facts Telangana crab spiders  Morphologically they resemble crabs and are hence also called crab spiders. Have tendency to walk sideways like crabs.
 They lie on flowering plants and wait for prey so they are also known as flower spiders.
 Do not weave webs like traditional spiders. 
They attack immobilise their prey with venom and prey all of a sudden. 
Size is between 3 mm and 23 mm.
Colour varies from dull to bright and colourful. 
Generally are bio-controlling agents and help to keep the insect population under control.
Thus are important to the ecosystem.

Legendary Telugu writer Dasaradhi Rangacharya passes away

Legendary Telugu writer Dasaradhi Rangacharya passed away in Hyderabad, Telangana after a brief illness. He was 87. About Dasaradhi Rangacharya Dasaradhi was on 24 August 1928 in Khammam District erstwhile Hyderabad State now in Telangna. Hyderabad liberation Struggle: He had actively participated in fight against the Nizam’s autocratic rule and also took part in the Telangana Armed Struggle till Hyderabad was liberated in Operation Polo. Work: He had written number of books highlighting the life and agony of the people at the grass roots level especially in the then Telangana region. His novels Chillara Devullu (The Lesser Deities)-1969, Moduga Poolu (Fire Flowers)-1971 are well known for influencing Telugu people against oppression by the rulers. He also had translated all four Vedas, Ramayana and Mahabharata into Telugu. His autobiography was Jeevanayanam. Awards: He was awarded Sahitya Academy award for Chillara Devullu.

First Telangana Language Day (Telangana Bhasha Dinosthavam) was observed on 9 September 2015. The day was observed to commemorate the birth anniversary of noted poet Kaloji Narayana Rao, who was called people’s poet.

The day was observed to popularise Telangana Language which has influence of Deccani Urdu, Marathi and Kannada. On the occasion, several programmes, like literary programmes and workshops, were held across the state.

Besides, the state Government also awarded its first ever Kaloji Award on renowned litterateur Dr Ammangi Venugopal for his contribution to the literary world of Telangana.

Kaloji was honoured with Padma Vibhushan award for his contribution for the upliftment of the downtrodden and other social causes. He was a prolific writer and poet in Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, and Urdu. He is credited for his activist writing and vocal support for the cause of Telangana. He is also respected as a political activist who staunchly opposed the feudal attitude of Nizams.

Background
Telangana Government on 7 September 2015 decided to observe poet Kaloji Narayana Rao’s 100th birth anniversary as Telangana language Day.

The government also decided to institute Kaloji Memorial Award in honour of the poet to honour those who have contributed significantly to Telangana language and literature.

Delhi most polluted city world Bank

Delhi has the worst air quality among 381 cities from developing countries, as per the World Bank's report on leveraging urbanisation in South Asia. The report, released on Thursday, further revealed that 19 of the 20 most polluted cities are from South Asia. Patna, Gwalior, Raipur, Ahmedabad and Lucknow have been ranked among the top 10 most polluted cities.

Singing of MoU will help in exchange information between Interpol and China’s law enforcement agencies in order to target and dismantle PEDS producers and help other countries catch drug cheats among their athletes. PEDS which are basically used as performance-enhancing drugs are openly sold online on Chinese websites and shipped to other countries around the world by regular mail. Presently, China is world’s top producer and exporter of PEDS which are manufactured and trafficked by underground labs in the country. About World Anti-Doping Agency WADA is global Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that aims at harmonizing anti-doping regulations in all sports and countries. It is collective initiative led by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Established: in 1999 in Lausanne Switzerland under so called Declaration of Lausanne to coordinate, promote and monitor the fight against drugs in sports.
